Mangalore: Raja Sandhyanathji of Yogishwar Math in Kadri hills will be the Guest of Honour on Sunday (Dec 4), when the historic, mad and muddy race of ‘Kambala’ (running buffaloes) will be held in watered rice field behind Kadri temple.
Former minister and current chief of CRZ, B. Nagaraja Shetty, president of Kadri Kambala Samithi, addressed the Press in city on Wednesday morning, giving details of the spectacular folk show.
As usual, the morning is devoted to Tug of war and dirty mud races for women, as also men.
Shree Devi Trust chairman Sadananda Shetty will inaugurate the human races programme, at 9 AM.
Krishna Palemar and Harikrishna Punarooru will be present during afternoon Kambala (buffalo) races.
MP Nalinkumar K, will inaugurate “Teppangaji” a rural prowess game, of breaking coconuts held in hands. A book ‘Satyda Siri’ awaits release by Kakkunje Nagapatri Vasudeva Acharya in the evening.
