Mangalore : The district administration of DK District has scheduled a variety of cultural events on account of Karavali Utsav 2010-11 both at Exhibition Ground and at Kadri Park, said S A Prabhakar Sharma, additional deputy commissioner and Chairman, Publicity Committee, Karavali Utsav.
Speaking at the press meet held Conference Hall of DC office on Jan 6, Thursday, he said that there will be two concerts everyday at exhibition Ground from 6pm onwards. Speacial concert of Music and Dance will be organized at Kadri Park everyday between Jan 7 and Jan 16 between 6pm to 9pm.
Speaking on the list of programmes, Member of committee Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, said that on Jan 7, there will be a Carnatic Classical vocal by Vidhushi Prarthana Sai Narasimhan of Chennai and Vachans by Sri Mounesh Kumar Mangalore. On Jan 8, Master Akash of Bangalore will render a Bansuri recital followed by Puttur Narasimha Nayak of Bangalore who will render popular Dasavani. On Jan 9, there will be a harmony solo concert by Mastero Pt Vasanth Kanakapur of Dharwad. On Jan 10, there will be a carnatic flute recital by Krishna Pawan Kumar of Mangalore followed by an instrumental Jugalbandhi (Sarod and Sitar) by renowned instrumentalists Pt Tejendra Narayan Mjumdar of Kolkata and Ustad Rafique Khan of Mangalore.On Jan 11, the concert of Devotional songs by Mahalaxmi Shenoy of Karkala followed by a Bharathanatyam by Divya Sena and party of Chennai. On Jan 12, there will be a Kuchupudi dance by Kishori Posalakanti of Chennai.
He also said that, on Jan 13, there will be a Carnatic Classical vocal by Prabath and Pramod of Chennai followed by a Bharathanatyam by Vidhwan Satyanarayan Raju and party of Bangalore. On Jan 14, there will be a Violin concert by Dileep K J of Chennai followed by a unique vocal – Bansuri Jugalbandhi by renowned Vidhushi Bombay Jayashree and Pt Ronu Majumdar of Mumbai. On Jan 15, there will be a Hindustani Classical vocal recital and devotional songs by Dhananjay Hegde of Mumbai followed by a Carnatic classical vocal byace vocalist Vidhwan T M Krishna of Chennai.
In addition to the above there will be two early morning concerts called Udaya Raga on January 9 and 16 between 6 am to 8 am.
Members of the committee like Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, L Narendra Nayak and Chandrashekar Reddy were present.
