Mangaluru : As part of creating awareness to keep the district clean, a magic show was held at Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday.

The show was  inaugurated at Panambur beach on Sunday. Magician Kudroli Ganesh, aimed at creating awareness on the need to keep the district clean, he will stage a series of such shows in the district over the next fortnight.

A huge pile of garbage takes the shape of a demon called ‘Kasasura’. The demon goes on to show dominance by creating diseases such as dengue and malaria. The demon disappears on seeing a broomstick.

The one-hour show will be staged in 30 different parts of the district as part of Ramakrishna Mission’s Swachh Mangaluru campaign. The last show will be on the Ramakrishna Mission premises on April 2.

According to Mr. Ganesh, magic can be effectively used for a cleanliness campaign. Earlier, he had used magic for campaigns such as literacy, polio, vaccination and malaria prevention. “I hope my show inspires many to involve in cleaning activity,” he said. This campaign is the fifth drive for a social cause he has undertaken.

The shows will be held near the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Car Street, Urwa Market, Urwa Store, Kankanady Market, Padil Junction, Surathkal Market, Katipalla, Mangaladevi Temple, Yekkur, Kodikal Ground, Kavoor Junction, Kadri Park, Forum Mall, Puttur’s Darbe Junction and Chinnara Park, Kadaba bus stand, Vitla private bus stand, Kalladka Market, B.C. Road, Mangalore University, Kuttar Junction, Kaikamba Junction, Polali Temple and Mogaveerapatna in Ullal.
