Mangalore : There was a clash for tickets in the KJP at the party meeting held on April 9, Tuesday. If the KJP had announced candidates for Mangalore, Mangalore South and North, Bantwal and Sullia already, the party workers did not seem to be happy with the selection.
Most of them argued that the recommendations made by the local committee had been neglected and the party leadership had taken decisions on its own without taking the local committee into confidence. Many members were of the opinion that the list should be revised after duly considering the opinion of the party workers.
Tuesday’s meeting was held in this backdrop and there was a fracas among members on the issue. The district secretary also had to hear an allegation that he had demanded cash if anyone was to get a party ticket.
District President Ravindra Shetty Harekala, leaders Mariamma Thomas, Azeez Baikampady, Gurucharan Hegde and several KJP leaders were present.
