Mangalore : Members of Karnataka Pranta Raita Sangha DK unit led by Yadava Shetty resorted to obstruction of traffic on the roads at Rao& Rao circle near State Bank to protest against delay in regularising certain illegal occupation of land providing ownership rights and distribution of land owners certificate besides the union health ministry’s fantastic advise to the central govt. that arecanut was a dangerous crop grown on palm trees and should be banned with immediate effect.
Speaking to the protesters sitting on the roads KPRS leader Yadava Shetty threatened the State government and central governments that if appropriate steps are not taken in a short time to redress the grievances of coastal farmers ,the KPRS would intensify the agitation for ` Akrama-Sakrama’ procedure to legalise land occupation by poor and landless farmers in days to come. He also stress upon the realisation of all other demands put forth by KPRS all this days.
KPRS leader Vasudev Uchil, Nonaya Gowda and others were present during the protest rally with police men looking on.
