Mangalore, Mar 11, 2012: In commemoration with the 77th birthday of late P. Lankesh the writer, journalist, and movie director, a special programme titled ‘Lankesh 77’ was held in the auditorium of St. Aloysius College on March 11 Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Devanuru Mahadeva, the writer, said that today it is necessary to revive culture and eliminate corruption from our society.
Commenting on the BJP-led state government, now the voters have another opportunity to vote for the right person and that the upcoming Udupi – Chikmagalur by polls and keep state out of corruption.
Writer Gowri Lankesh, presided over the occasion and said that Lankesh had always thought and entertained with the tool of journalism.
Suresh Bhat Bakrabailu released the books Panchali, Nanna Preethiya Bharatha, and Helutthene Kela on this occasion.
Sara Abubakker, the Kannada litterateur, presided over the first session based on the topic Problems Faced by the Coast
Dr. H. S. Anupama, P. V. Mohan, Hayavadana Upadhyaya, and Vasudeva Belle participated in the discussion.
