Puttur: A big fire that went un-noticed for long hours near Uppinagady Govt. hospital ate up several trees in the premises of the hospital on Thursday, March 8 here.

Where ignorance is bliss the cause of such a large fire was not known, and only guess work prevailed. Dairy leaves fallen from the trees caught fire to spread rapidly.

People living nearly in hospital colony were afraid the fire could spring on them but fire bridges came shouting and doused the fire to control the damage.
