Puttur: An incident of a person forcefully entering a medical shop and assaulting a woman staffer was reported from Ishwaramangala here on Tuesday.

The accused identified as Ibrahim Kukkaje (60).

The man had come to the medical shop to buy medicines. On seeing the woman alone in the shop, he entered it, attempt to rape her.

When the woman shouted and cried for help, people nearby came to her rescue and apprehended the man who was later handed over to the police.
