Mangalore : Mandd Sobhann will organize its 4th Global Konkani Music Awards at Kalangann on December 9 at 6.30 pm, said Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on August 29, Wednesday, he said that Mandd Sobhann will confer award for Best Singer Female 2011, Best Singer Male 2011, Best Lyricist 2011, Best Music Composer 2011, Best Music Arranger 2011 and Best Music Album 2011.

The contestants can participate in the competition by sending any Konkani vocal music alum CD/ Cassette/ VCD/ DVD released in the year 2011 (January to December) anywhere in the world, in any dialect of Konkani, by anyone belonging to any religion and communal denomination is eligible for consideration. Even the devotional songs or albums are eligible, he added.
Speaking on the awards, he said that awards will consist of the title, cash prize of Rs 25,000 and the Trophy and ‘Maan Sanman’.

The candidates must send application in the prescribed form with proper attachment to Kalaangann Makale, Shaktinagar, Mangalore- 6.  The last date to receive applications or nominations is on September 30.

Mandd sobhann will invite bollywood celebrity singer or music director will be called to give away the awards to the winners of 6 categories.

Mandd sobhann president Stany Alvares, former president Louis J Pinto, Co-ordinator Arun Raj Rodrigues and Secretary Irene Rebello wer e present at the press meet.
