Mangalore : MN Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of SCDCC Bank Ltd has bagged the prestigious Sahakara Vishwa Bandhu Shree International Award in recognition of his outstanding services to the co-operative field.
Balaram Jakhad, former union minister and former governor of Madhya Pradesh, conferred the award on Rajendra Kumar at an international co-operative conference held at New Delhi on December 6 under the auspices of the World Peace Development and Research Foundation. The conference was organized as part of International Co-operative year 2012 celebrations.
Prof. Sandeep Sharma, President of the Foundation, RK Singh, Vice President, Dr Daman Prakash, Senior advisor, Shivaji Rao Giridhar Patil, senior director of national co-operative union, GT Deve Gowda, President of Karnataka State Co-operative Board were among others present on the occasion.
Rajendra Kumar who has been serving as SCDCC Bank chairman since 18 years, has been instrumental in the bank bagging several awards including state apex bank awards 14 times and NABARD award 11 times.
He is also working towards women’s empowerment through Navodaya Self-Help Trust.
