Mangalore: ADGP Bipin Gopalkrishna who has rushed to Mangalore in the wake of Saturday’s Morning Mist raid case, has informed that eight persons have been arrested in connection with the case, while FIRs have also been filed against two journalists –Naveen Soorinje of Kasturi channel and Sharan of Sahaya TV who were at the spot during the attack, but failed to inform the police well in advance. Others arrested are Taranath, Subhash Padil, Sandeep Shetty, Sharath, Tharanath, and Venugopal of Hindu Janajagarana Vedike.
Gopalkrishna also informed that Section 144 has been clamped in the city for three days in the wake of the incident.
The ADGP said 13students belonging to Shridevi, Sahyadri, and Roshni Nilaya were present at the venue and claimed that they were not involved in a rave party but were only celebrating a friend’s birthday. He also said that the police did not find any drug or illegal substance at the venue. Instead,they found only soft drinks, food items, and beer bottles, he added.
