Bangalore: Janata Dal (Secular) State President H D Kumaraswamy today alleged that his phones, including mobile, were being tapped by the ruling BJP government since it came to power in May 2008.
Demanding resignation of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on the phone tapping issue, including that of the Lokayukta, Mr Kumaraswamy alleged ”My phones are being tapped by the Intelligence Wing of the Chief Minister under his direction since he assumed office.” Replying to a question, Mr Kumaraswamy said ”I am ready to quit politics and accept any punishment if my name figures in the original report on illegal mining submitted by the Lokayukta.
“I have already stated that I had approved licence to two companies after all the documents were cleared from all departments and no objection was raised.
Moreover, these companies are yet to start functioning till date. I am ready for inquiry by any agency,” He told reporters who met him at his residence here.
