Mangalore : Namma Kudla will organize the eleventh annual Goodu Deepa competitions in the premises of Kudroli Lord Gokarnanatha Temple at 5 p.m. on November 4, Thursday, said Kadri Navaneet Shetty, co-ordinator of the programme.

Speaking at the press meet held Press Club on October 28, Thursday, he said that the contest will have 3 categories—traditional, modern, and unique in the form of model. The first and the second prize winners of each category will receive a gold medal. The others 10 in each category who succeed is getting appreciative remarks from the judges will receive consolation prizes.

Those who would like to participate in the Goodu Deepa competition are required to register and select one of the categories at the venue before 4 p.m. on November 4, Thursday. Participants must bring all the material they require to make the goodu deepas.
Prizes will be given away at the valedictory ceremony of the Goodu Deepa contest, which will be organized at 8 p.m. on October 16, Friday.

The prestigious ‘Namma Tuluver Award’ will be conferred on Dr Dayanand Pai, Managing Director of Century Builders.
The Namma Kudla – 2010 Award will be given to Tulu Dramatist Devdas Kapikad. Mr. Chandra Shekar Suvarna of Suvarna Arts Mulky will be specially honored and felicitated and Bala Prathibhe Award conferred to artiste Mayuri Ullal at the valedictory programme.

As a part of the event, Rajesh and group will present the programme ‘Tulu Sangeetha Vaibhava’ and dance programme by Dinesh Attavar, Vibhavalakshmi and Mayuri Ullal.
The programme will be telecasted live on V4 Live Channel.
