Ahmedabad: Amidst heavy security arrangements, Narendra Modi will take oath as Gujarat Chief Minister for the fourth time on Wednesday.
The grand ceremony, to be held at 11 am, will take place in the presence of central party observer Arun Jaitley. The Bharatiya Janata Party had won 115 seats in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly in the just-concluded polls.
Top BJP leaders, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray will attend the swearing-in ceremony at the Sardar Patel Stadium.
According to Gujarat BJP spokesperson IK Jadeja, “Top BJP leaders, including LK Advani, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh and Venkaiah Naidu will be present for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Narendra Modi”.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad patron Ashok Singhal will also be present at the ceremony. Meanwhile, Modi’s mother has reached the stadium.
On Tuesday, Modi was unanimously elected the leader of Gujarat BJP legislature party, which later met Governor Kamla Beniwal and staked claim to form a new government in the state under his leadership.
Modi had taken oath as Chief Minister for the first time in 2001 and then in 2002 and 2007.
