Mangaluru : Vipul Kumar took charge as the police commissioner of Mangaluru city from outgoing police commissioner T R Suresh on the evening of Wednesday April 18.
It is said as the directions of the Election Commission in view of the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls the tranfered had been ordered .
Vipul Kumar, an officer of the 1999 batch, had served as inspector general of police (IGP) and director of Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru.
A native of Jehanabad in Bihar, Vipul Kumar holds an MTech degree.
