Ramnagar: Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde has refuted the charges made by some that the name of union minister SM Krishna was deliberately omitted from the Lokayukta report on mining.
At the same time, Justice Hegde challenged Krishna who is now tainted, to first shun his position and then speak on the issue.
Hegde who was in Ramnagar along with Dr Ashwin Mahesh, independent candidate from Bangalore graduates’ constituency, said some politicians were mounting pressure on him to quit Anna team. Hegde expressed his ire saying he was not receiving any pay to be in Anna team and added he was only being hurled with necessary allegations and criticism.
He further said more allegations are being leveled even before the State government has approved the Lokayukta report on illegal mining.
He also made it clear that Yeddyurappa was jailed not because of his report but owing to the CBI probe ordered by the Supreme Court. He said corruption in the judicial system was less when compared to corruption in legislature and assembly.
