Mangaluru: United Muslim Organisation Dakshina Kannada district has clarified that it will not be part of “Samarasayada Nadige Sauharadadedege” which will be led by District-In-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai, on December 12 from Farangipete to Mani in Bantwal taluk.
A press release from K Ashraf of the organisation said that there has been an increase in atrocities on members of the minority community in Dakshina Kannada district and neither the district administration nor the government or two ministers from the districts have been able to provide justice to the members of Muslim community.
“Even when the police mishandled the Quran, the religious book of Muslims during a raid on a house in Panemangaluru in Bantwal, no action was initiated against erring police officials,” he said and added that hence the organisation has decided not to support the harmony walk.
