Mangalore : P Jayaram Bhat, managing director and CEO of Karnataka Bank inaugurated the national-level ‘Aloysian Fest 2013’ at St Aloysius College premises on Feb 1, Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that very students must raise their ability to achieve their goal in their life and there are many students of the college, who have reached to a greater height and I am proud to be an Aloysian.
Principal Fr Swebert D’Silva said that the college is proud of its students who involve themselves in organizing such events which portrays the ideals of the College.
He also said that it is not sufficient for the students to excel in their academy, but they need to mingle with the society and also display their talents to them and such kind of fests train them, he said.
K Anil, senior manager of Indian Overseas Bank was the guest of honor while Fr Joseph Ignatius Rodrigues, rector presided over the function.
Vice principal Fr Francis Almeida, co-ordinators Ronald Pinto, John D’Silva, Judith Pinto, Dr Richard Gonsalves, registrar Narahari, student council president Sanath Kumar Achar, Secretary Roger, joint secretary Dimple, and others were present.
The Aloysian fest includes ‘Art Beat’, humanities fest; ‘Imprints’, science fest; ‘Spin-Out’, management fest; ‘ACME’, commerce fest; and ‘Astitva’, cultural fest for all streams.
The college has also introduced ‘Aloyisiad’, a sports fest at the inter-collegiate level from this year.
