Mangalore : Following several complaints of encroachment on govt lands belonging to the old port, DK Minister of Ports and Ecology, Krishna Palemar,  visited the old port office on Tuesday (Aug 3) and chided the officials on their unsatisfactory way of functioning. He asked the concerned officials why there was a delay in issuing permits to boats. He was angry about wrong statements made by officials to issue permits, and told there was no recommendation of a Minister needed for the issue of any permits to boats.

He asked the officials to clear files in 15 days and warned that erring officials would face action.
