Udupi: Pejawar Matt(Udupi) swamiji talking to reporters here on Tuesday, certified that former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa was not a convict, but had been “accused” in many cases which are before a law court.
The 80-year old seer accepted other corrupt leaders getting punishment all over India, but stopped short of calling Yeddyurappa as an economic offender(say, as in the case of Gali J. Reddy and his brother-in-law jailed in Hyderabad now), and called him(ex-CM) only as an “accused” who is not convicted of any crime so far.
However, a final Verdict is awaited from LA special Court, or state High Court, the Swamiji admitted.
But the arrest of other political leaders now behind bars in Tihar, Chanchalguda, or Parappana Agrahara Central Prisons(in Delhi, AP and Karnataka)posed as an example of punishment against crimes earlier committed, and served as a permanent warning to all the corrupt politicians, against their huge greed.
The Swamiji allowed LK Advani to conduct his chariot journey against all corrupt elements, adding that he could pass through Karnataka. On UPCL second unit, he said that CM(DVS Gowda) awaited the report of an expert committee, before its actual commissioning soon.
