Mangalore : District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar urged the department to complete all the pending development projects launched within the city on time, in order to submit new proposals for further development to the state.
Speaking at the meeting of MCC officials and builders and engineers’ association held at the Nethravathi Hall of the Zilla Panchayat on September 19, Monday, he said that the builders, contractors, engineers, and designers has to beautify the 45-km stretch of road within MCC limits and bring it to international standards after renovating it..
He also asked them to give importance to road development in city and instructed them to make online information available about road development.
Around 15 representatives who participated in this meeting requested the minister to give one week to think about the decision and urged the minister to help them implement the concept of “own your road, own your park” in each engineer will monitor the development of 1km of road.
Various engineer and builders assured the minister to work for the development of roads in order to bring it to international standards according to the minister’s guidance.
Apart from it, the issues like advertisement hoardings, solid waste management, and other matter were also discussed in the meeting.
It was also decided that the people on providing information regarding one who litter waste in public places will be given a reward of Rs. 10,000, whereas the people who give information regarding people who fill ponds with soil should be given a reward ranging from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 10,000.
Speaking on the occasion, N. Yogish Bhat, the state assembly deputy speaker, said that Rs. 200 crore has been earmarked for the development of City.
Mayor Praveen Anchan, DC Dr. N. S. Channappa Gowda, and ZP CEO Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash were also present.
