Mangalore : The Pilikula Heritage Village of Pilikula Nisargadhama celebrated Aatidonji dina, a day in aashada on July 24, Saturday.
Anantha Krishna Bhat, Chairman, Karnataka Bank, said that the celebration reminded him of his childhood days. He also explained the significance of ‘Aati’ on the occasion.
Shivakumar, head of the department of Tulu and translation, Dravidian University, Kuppam, inaugurated the programme.
Dr Vamana Nandavar, litterateur welcomed the gathering and explained the developmental work taking place of Pilikula Heritage Village in upholding culture and Tuluva tradition of Dakshina Kannada.
Aati food festival was successful in drawing the attention of attention of the people towards the Tulu tradition of food-making, handicrafts, antiques, folk and culture through the exhibition at the venue.
Litterateur Amrutha Someshwar, Dr Vamana Nandavara, KSA Executive Director, Pilikula Nisargadhama, Jayaprakash Bhandary, K A Rohini and J R Lobo were present.
