Bangalore: A High Court bench has issued a temporary stay to the proceedings in the Sullia First Grade Judicial Magistrate’s Court against Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Hindu Jagarana Vedike Leader Jagadish Karnath and ten others in a case of delivering a provocative speech at a function near Sullia bus stand in February 2009. The case has been adjourned till November 13.
The other accused in this case are Srinidhi Hegde, Ramaiah Bhat Panja, Gopalakrishna Bhat, Dayananda Bana, Sanjay Kumar Paichar, Advocate Deepak Kutthamotte, Dileep, Naveen Kumar Menala, Krishnaprasad Mattila and P K Umesh.
The Sullia police had earlier filed a chargesheet against them in 2009 based on a complaint lodged by a local resident named KS Ummer.
