Mangalore : Finally curtain came down at 5 pm today, for the publicity campaign of Assembly Elections in all the 8 constituencies in which 71 candidates are contesting.
The candidates made final efforts to influence voters before deadline ends at Friday 5 pm.
National leaders of all major political parties visited Dakshina Kannada Assembly Constituency in a tight contest between BJP and Congress. Other Political parties too not lagging behind in wooving voters in door to door campaign. Over all, the open campaign ended in peaceful manner and no any untoward incident reported any were from the district.
The only break for the usual processions and hoardings in the election campaign was the election commissioner, who maintained strict election code of conduct. It severely restricted the distribution of freebies to voters by political parties.
The electioneering in Assembly poll 2013 can be considered as clean. The election will be held on 5th May 2013 and result will be out on 8th May 2013.
