Mangalore : People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) president Victor D’Silva in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands said that the organization will stage a “people’s audit on police torture” on Dec 11 – 12.
He said that India is facing a bad situation where all the criminals, anti-social elements, and communalists have entered into the politics.
The cases of custodial deaths, encounters, extortion, and police torture are on the rising day by day and the Government doctors and judiciary have shamelessly joined hands with the police
He urged the victims of police torture and other sudffering in the hands of judges, government doctors, and lawyers are invited to file their complaints along with relevant information and documents with names and addresses of eye witnesses before Nov 30, Tuesday at the PUCL office located at Pauline, Fr. Mullers Road, Valencia, Mangalore.
He assured the names of the victims to remain confidential.
