Mangaluru: Foundation stone was laid for several developmental projects by District In-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai on Sunday.
Addressing the press meet at Circuit House, Mangaluru Ramanath Rai said that a new dining hall will be constructed at Town Hall at the cost of Rs 99.85 lakh under 13the Finance Commission.
“A fully equipped market will be built at Alake with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh and at Kavoor At Rs 1 crore. For the development of Kavoor junction Rs 105 crore is kept aside. The night shelter at Bunder-kasba which was inaugurated today, its ground floor was constructed at the cost of Rs 99.80 lakh,” he said.
Mayor Harinath said that the Kavoor junction development will help for the smooth movement of traffic and a public toilet will be constructed at the cost of Rs 12 lakh next to the junction.
Further MLA J R Lobo said that the night shelter at Bunder-Kasba is first among its kind in entire State. Nearly 75 people can accommodate there.
