Bangalore: Kannada film start Ramya, not yet 35, has joined Youth Congress in city on Monday here. She asked her admirers whether they would join YC as well, in her twitter.
It was a calculate move to rope in Lakhs of youth who swear by the glamour doll whose recent picture “Sanju Weds Geetha” is a hit running to crowded houses min Karnataka.
She was managed to join Youth Congress just before Young Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to the IT city on April 21 (Thursday) and when he is expected to address only young people in YC.
The fickle-minded Ramya who fought KFCC only recently and had a new turn of life, had lied that she had no interest in an active politics. She then joined YC because it had young persons in it. But she did not enquire of other youth branches of BJP and JD-S.
She wrote on her website that she was criticised for joining a corrupt party, but this is not true of young Congressmen. She quoted Gandhiji “Be the change you want to see”, as if she knew the great leader of India.
She answered Devegowda and Kumaraswamy in one breath by dwelling on corruption and asking youth to be part of such (corrupt) system only to change it. That is Hazare for you.
Ramya’s parents are well-known to SM Krishna, and Ramya was asked to be the parliamentary candidate from Mandya, his home constituency, but Ambarish got the chance only to be routed by JD-S (former minster) leader Cheluvaraya Swamy. Ambarish mediated in Ramya-KFCC fight to remove the “ban of one year” over her, applied by KFCC chief B.K Patil in a hurry.
