Mangaluru: Ravikanthe Gowda took charge as the new superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district today.

Sudheer Kumar Reddy, who was the SP of Dakshina Kannada, has now been transferred as SP of Belagavi.

The new SP was welcomed by ASP V J Sajeeth here today.

Ravikanthe Gowda is basically from Mandya. His father is a well known short-story writer Besagarahalli Ramanna.
