Mangalore : For the first time in the history of cooperative sector Banking in India, The South Canara District Central Cooperative Bank (SCDCC) in association with Nabard Bangalore has launched RuPay Kisan Card and RuPay Debit Card at a function held at the SCDCC Bank premises at Kodialbail in the city on February 25, Tuesday.
G.R. Chinthala, Chief General Manager of NABARD, Bangalore launched the Kisan card and Rajendra Poojary ,Deputy General Manager , IDBI launched the RuPay debit card.
After lunching the card, M.N. Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of the SCDCC Bank said, the Bank has given top priority for providing finance to agricultural sector since inception. RuPay Cards can be used only in ATMs subject to a maximum withdrawal of Rs 25000 per day. A sum of Rs 1.46 crore has been sanctioned by NABARD for this project, RuPay Kisan Cards are being distributed to 95000 farmer members, he said.
Further he said, the Bank has been providing timely finance through the PACS under various loaning Schemes thereby helped farmers to avail all facilities for their needs.
