Belthangady : The newly constructed SDM Hospital at Ujire at a cost of Rs 14 crores was inaugurated on September 29, Sunday by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Speaking at a function held at Indraprastha Auditorium, the Chief Minister stressed the need to set up modern hospitals in rural areas. He said considering the fact that there were large number of poor in Karnataka when compared to neighbouring states, the government launched Anna Bhagya Scheme.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade presided over the function.Local MLA Vasanth Bangera urged the CM for a scientific study of Niddodi and Ettinahole projects.
District Minister Ramanatha Rai, Health Minister UT Khader, Urban Development Minister Vinaykumar Sorake, Youth Services Minister Abhayachandra Jain, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and others were present.
