Chennai: The Madras High Court has instructed the Cyber Crime branch of the state on Monday, to proceed against Kanchi Guru Jayendra Saraswathi who is the main accused in manager Shankar Raman murder case.
A division bench of MHC also asked to continue the trial in Pondicherry sessions court, in the case.
The MHC ordered to conduct enquiry against Kanchi Guru, on the basis of petitions submitted by lawyers Sunder Rajan and Manikanthan. The report in 3 months has to be submitted by a DGP rank officer in cyber crime branch, Tamil Nadu.
The deceased Shanker Raman was manager in Kanchi Varadaraja Perumal temple. His murder took place on 3rd September, 2004 in the temple premises. The enquiry was entrusted to Pondicherry court in 2005 by Apex Court. There are 24 accused in FIR of the police.
