Bangalore : Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah has tendered his resignation to the post of opposition leader in State Legislative Assembly, disgruntled over the decision of the Congress High Command in not granting ticket to his loyalists for the MLC polls. It is learnt, he has even been asked to send his resignation to the Speaker.
He has sent his resignation through fax to AICC President Sonia Gandhi, State in-charge Madhusudan Mistri and KPCC Chief Dr G Parameshwar.
Siddaramaiah decided to quit after holding a meeting of his supporters soon after the Congress released its list of candidates for the MLC polls.
Siddaramaiah’s main grouse has been that he has been neglected on all occasions and he had the same experience even over the selection of candidates for MLC polls.
It may be recalled here that he had pressurized the Congress high command to grant tickets to his supporters CM Ibrahim and Bhairathi Suresh. It is learnt, though the High Command has promised to heed to his demand, the tickets were not granted much to the resentment of Siddaraiamah.
