Mangalore: Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has said that Congress was not an ideal party for a leader like Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to reporters on his arrival at the Maryhill Helipad in Mangalore on June 3, Sunday, the Chief Minister said the BJP would welcome Siddaramaiah if he wished to join the party and at the same time added it was left to the party leadership on allowing a leader from any other party into the BJP.
It may be recalled here that just a day ago, former CM Kumaraswamy too had said the JD(S) would welcome Siddu into its fold if he wished so.
The statements from the two leaders come even as Siddaramaiah has clarified that he would not quit the Congress.
Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat, District BJP President Padmanabha Kottari, Krishna Palemar, MLA, Nagaraj Shetty, Coastal Development Authority Chairman and others were present.
