Mangaluru : Dakshina Kannada district reported Six Coronavirus positive cases on May 21, Thursday.
Five of them belong to DK while one is from Kalaburagi. All had returned from Dubai on May 18.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 171 people have been screened on Thursday. As many as 32 people are currently admitted in NIT-K Suratkal quarantine facility. Another 14 are quarantined in ESI hospital.
As many 6,073 people have completed 28 days of quarantine.
A total of 6,053 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which reports of 5,584 tested negative, and 61 positive, out of which 35 are currently active. As many as 21 persons have recovered and been discharged, and five deaths have occurred so far.
P-506, a 45-year-old resident of Kulshekar who was tested positive on April 23 has cured and discharged on Thursday.
Out of the 61 positive cases, 55 are from Dakshina Kannada and six patients are from other districts.
As many as 333 samples were sent for testing on Thursday. Reports of 502 samples were received on Thursday out of which 496 tested negative and six positive.
Reports of 408 samples are awaited. As many as 15 people have been admitted for observation.
A total of 3,748 people have been treated at fever clinics so far. On Thursday, 21 cases of severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) were reported.
A total of 24,799 migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Jharkhand have been sent home by special Shramik trains.
