Mangalore : Meetings to redress grievances of public will be held at every police station of the district on the third Sunday of every month, informed Dakshina Kannada SP Abhishek Goyal.
Speaking to reporters here after attending a district level grievance redressal meeting held at his office on June 16, Sunday, the SP said the sub-inspectors of the respective police stations should mandatorily attend the meetings.
He said the district level grievance redressal meetings elicited very por response and added Sunday’s meeting received just one complaint.
He SP further said there has been tardy progress in developmental works in Naxal hit areas and added in Belthangady of the progress works worth Rs 5 crore, only 50 per cent progress has been made so far. Even the DC is not happy with the way the works are progressing slowly, the SP said.
He also spoke about a proposal of inducting tribal youth as Home Guards to provide a job opportunity to them.
