Bangalore: AICC people are in the midst of party elections from Taluk / Zilla levels to state / Centre heights these days. But the recent by-elections result has dampened their spirits, in view of a spate of resignations from KPCC to Assembly and down the district level for loss of face.
Among the leaders who sent in their resignations, despite well fought out by-elections bringing sorrowful defeats, are RV Deshpande, Siddaramaiah, DK Shiva Kumar (who did it 4 months earlier!) and Gulburga Congress chief Allama Prabhu Patil in different channels, but new chiefs to KPCC have to take over where these leaders have succumbed to Party losses in 2 by-elections.
Sonia Gandhi, having been elected a 4th time continually to the high post of AICC President, she alone has to make all necessary changes to re-invigorate Congress branches in states where they do not work well. Her son Rahul is there in the Party hierarchy as General Secretary, to help choose the right persons to lead state units, even legislative posts now.
