Belgaum: Hundreds of active youths from Sri Rama Sene are in the Bhookailas ashram at Athani’s
here since weeks, undergoing stiff and strong training in hot armaments (handling and use) in a secret way. They are being trained by retired Indian Army officers.
Towering over the trainees, Pramod Muthalik in forms that the youths need to fight and have a combating spirit to fight enemies. But he does not specify whom he is fighting, the demon of corruption, or it is a martyrs’ brigade of Hindus. But 180 men from 10districts of Karnataka are trained here in karate, sword-fighting martial arts and army warfare. Police seem to blink.
The ashram is 10kms. away from Athani. No one is allowed to peep in there. The Deputy Commissioner of Belgaum, and Police chiefs of the region, pretend not to know them. The sense volunteers are defending the ashram. Muthalik had long ago declared his intentions to raise a youth Army to protect Hindus from onslaughts.
