Mangalore : St. Christopher Association celebrated its founder’s day, on Wednesday, March 26, at association hall.
The association was started on March 26, 1967. Alphonse Fernandes, the Founder Secretary honoured by Denis Lobo, senior member and other 10 Founder Members were also honoured on the occasion.
Sushil Noronha, honourary president, felicitated to the Founder Members and spoke on the occasion when association started there were 132 Founder Members and by their selfless service and social concern has reached the association to the topmost. By their great effort, the hostel facilities provided to the needy and for the drivers, financial support through the Maco Society and Balmatta petrol pump giving good service to the customers. This is only because of founder members. Present we have 1500 members with good Unity, with helping nature it is good example to other Associations.
V. Rev. J.B. Crasta, spiritual director, told, “By the senior members dedication and sacrifice, it is a great encouragement to the present members. In future days, he wished that the association will do good project to the society.”
Alphonse Fernandes in his speech recalled all the old memories.
Raymond D’Cunha, president, welcomed the gathering. Herald D’Souza, secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Francis D’Souza, vice president, Denis D’souza, joint secretary, were present on the dais.
