Uppinangady/Puttur: Opening new classrooms built for Uppiningady Govt. PU College, DK minister incharge, Krishna Palemar advised students to keep off politics to concentrate on studies, but he had no objection if they liked and joined politics, after their studies.
He asked teachers and well-wishers to stress on this point with their wards.
The role of Govt. schools in the national scenery of education was full of significance and importance, the minister noted.
The rural students had benefited a lot from existing Govt. schools/colleges. One may realise this fact by the Govt. investing as much as 12000 crores on education alone, Palemar stated.
Two teachers, Vice-principal Diwakar Acharya G, and Physical education guide Gopal Shetty K, were honoured on the occasion.
The teachers are held in high respect even after their retirement, by students and society and only teachers are lucky that way, Palemar expressed.
Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar K, contrasted the love for Govt. service, from the education in Govt. schools which people disdained, to favour English medium schools (private).
Sanjeev Mathandor welcomed, and Principal M.Ibrahim thanked.
