Mangalore : The Suratkal police have arrested the thieves as per the complaint filed by Ramesh Shetty at the Suratkal Police Station for the money robbery on July 11, Monday, said Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.
Speaking at the press meet held at his office on July 12 Tuesday said a case under Robbery has been registered in Surathkal Police Station on July 10, Sunday at Mescom Office Surathkal Mangalore where one unknown culprit criminally restrained Poornima , who was working as a ATP operator at Suratkal MESCOM office and forcibly took away a cash of Rs. 1, 36,278/.
According to Poornima, an employee of the firm, who was posted to look after the system, said that two persons wearing helmets, who came in a motor bike, tied her up, and robbed about Rs 1,35,000 on Sunday evening.
After the investigation, the Suratkal police have busted the plan made by Poornima and her beloved Chethan and taken them into custody.
Arrested Poornima (20) is a daughter of Poovappa Salian and Chethan (23), son of Lokesh residing at Venkamma Nivas, Guddekopla Idya village, Mangalore. The police have seized the Tata Sumo used for the plan and the amount of Rs 1,20,885 from the accused.
Station house officer of Suratkal police station, K U Belliappa, DCP M Muthuraya, DCP Dharmaiah were present at the press meet.
