Mangalore: In memory of the Founder of Co-operation in DK district, Molahally Shiva Rao, SCDCC Bank opened by him about a century ago, has come forward to identify and honour those students who secured high ranking marks in SSLC (class 10) and PUC (2) exams, conducted in DK Udupi districts in the year 2009-10, by giving Talent awards and scholarships for higher education of the children of Bank staff by conducting a programme on Tuesday afternoon at the Molahally Hall, K.S Rao Road in Mangalore.
Rector Joseph Rodrigues, S.J, of St. Aloysius’ College presented the awards to the merited students, with a shawl, a medal and a citation each.
Bank Chief M.N Rajendra Kumar presided on this occasion. Rev. J. Rodrigues addressing the students, stated that every child does not get educated for various seasons. However, by applying intellect given by God, one can achieve greatness, he added. The wards (parents) have to guide their children, only then, their talent flowers rapidly, he stated.
Bank M.D, P. Narayana Kamath, and Vice-President Vinay Kuamr Soorinje were present on the dais. Directors of the Bank and officers also attended the Talent Awards and scholarships to children of the staff members on this day.
