Bangalore: While almost all kinds of polls in Karnataka, even by-polls, have ended the Assembly elections to Tamil Nadu and Kerala lower houses have begun, indeed they are running now on Wednesday, as also in Bengal and Assam.
The peculiarity of South Indian states elections is that there are only 2 parties in democracy in Tamil Nadu (DMK Front and AIADMAK Front) and Kerala (LDF and UDF-Congress) and they rule once in 10 years since 2 decades by turns. In Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha is expected to win her elections and return to power in 2011, sending M.Karunanidhi into retirement. In Kerala, similarly Congress led UDFwith A.K Antony (Defence Minister) supervising the return to power of Oommen Chandy, is expected to win. The voting has begun today and by 5pm we will know how much voting percentage is.
