Mangalore : MP Nalin Kateel inaugurated the Annual Press Club Day of Patrika Bhavan Trust at Lions Seva Mandir, Kadri here on June 7.
The DK district working journalists’ union (DKDJWU) and Partika Bhavan Trust was jointly organised the colorful event with a joyful ceremony.
Speaking after inauguration, Nalin Kateel said, Journalists always should be careful, they should not be biased and not be subjected to pressure anyone. Now a days, media is the most important medium of society.
Manohar Prasad, Harish Bantwal, Agnel Rodrigues, photographers Satish Ira, Daya Kukkaje, Apul Alva Ira, Ahmed Anwar and Rajesh Shetty were felicitated by the dignitaries.
Health minister UT Khader spoke on the occasion.
Film actor and national award-winning director Shivadhwaj was the chief guest.
Children of journalists who secured top marks in the recent SSLC and PUC examinations were felicitated on the occasion.
Prizes were distributed to winners of sports competitions held for media persons recently.
