Mangalore: The Udupi by-poll was won by an Udupi man from Brahmavara and not from Karkala (as ex-MLA). The Congress has devastated the BJP fort in Udupi and no one trusts a BJP leader in that area. In Chikkamagalur, BJP MLA C.T. Ravi’s Wife Pallavi has been exposed as a criminal, to forge documents to grab land, but there was no evidence of power abuse by C.T. Ravi himself, as stated by Lokayukta police, which has asked the Gowda Government to cancel land allotments made to Pallavi Ravi and her Anjaneya Education society that grabbed 30,000sq. ft. of land by hook or crook to bring a bad name to God Anjaneya himself.
The allotments of civic amenity/residential sites made to this ignoble society would be duly cancelled. That finishes BJP in both districts. Jayaprakash Hegde could become a Union minister shortly if UPA cabinet undergoes change.
Congress has seen a revival in Udupi and Chikkamagalur, but has to carefully plan its Udupi rise like a Phoenix from its ashes, to reconstitute its inner party wings in that area of new MP, and bring reforms within the party to cope up with the scandals that encircle Congress and breathe down its neck at present.
The by-poll has shown a new path, but Congress cannot be arrogant in its ways. It has to conduct its programmes meekly and with determination to raise its head.
