Karkala : Udupi district minister Kota Srinivas Poojari, on November 28, Wednesday, paid a surprise visit to the Karkala Government Hospital, inspected the condition of the hospital and enquired the well being of the patients.

He visited the various sections and also interacted with the Chief Medical Officer Dr Jnanesh Kamath, District Health Officer Dr Ramachandra Bairi.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said  he would take steps to sanction anew ambulance for the hospital and also to install a solar water heating system at a cost of Rs 1.5 lakhs from his MLA’s Funds.

He also said he would speak to the health minister on providing a new building for the maternity division of the hospital which is now housed in a new building.

At the same time, the minister was appreciative of the cleanliness maintained in the hospital and the efficient services rendered by the staff.
