Mangalore : The BJP is fully responsible for the political disorder in Karnataka said Union law minister M Veerappa Moily.
Speaking to the media representatives at the Circuit House in the city on Saturday, October 30, he said that present ruling party has killed democracy by flouting constitution of India. The Yeddyurappa government has succeeded to get ruling power in the state once again by violating and misusing the power he added.
Speaker K.G. Bopaiah’s decision to disqualify lawmakers from the assembly and conduct a voice vote to save the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government was ‘unconstitutional’ and blamed the BJP party for engaging in the horse trade.
Speaking about the Friday’s verdict by Karnataka High Court, which upheld the decision of Speaker K G Bopaiah to disqualify the rebel MLAs, Mr Moily said that ‘it is clear that the disqualified MLAs are not satisfied with Karnataka Government’s verdict. Yet, they have the right to fight the case in Supreme Court following the legal procedure, he added.
