Mangalore : Jagadish Shenava, District Working President of VHP has urged the authorities to register cases against cattle thieves under the Goonda Act.
Speaking to reporters here on September 28, Saturday, he demanded strict action against cattle smugglers. He also pointed out that until now only petty cases were registered by the police against those who were arrested in cattle smuggling cases.
He said nearly 4000 cattle have been reported missing in the past and demanded a compensation of Rs 5000 per cattle to all those whose cows were stolen.
He also demanded legal action against those who resort to cattle slaughtering.
Kateel Dinesh Pai and Dinesh Pandeshwar of VHP cattle protection unit were present at the press meet.
