Udupi : Vinaykumar Sorake filed his nomination as Congress candidate from Kaup at the old DC office which is the present taluk office, on April 17, Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters later, Sorake who is also the AICC Secretary said he was confident that the electorate of Puttur would support him. On former minister Vasanth Salian joining the JD(S), he said Salian had been given a chance to contest seven times and added he had won five times.
Sorake said he was a dedicated party man and was sure that the party workers would ceaselessly strive for his victory.
On the party deciding to field him from Kaup, Sorake said he was a voter from Udupi though he was elected MLA of Puttur almost 20 years ago.
