Udupi : KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar has said that the massive support which the Congress padayatra has enjoyed in DK and Udupi districts, has made it sure that the people of the district have realized their mistake of voting the BJP to power in the last elections.
Speaking to reporters at Mulki where the padayatra reached on January 31, Thursday, he said the padayatra was organized to promote amity and alleged that peace had become a thing of past in the district in the past four and a half year rule under the BJP government. The BJP,he said had tried to divide the people on communal lines.
He said the BJP which promised much while taking charge, has only made Karnataka earn the top slot in corruption and nothing else.
Opposition leader Siddaramaiah who also spoke, said the BJP government had no moral right to continue in power and added many in the government were actually the supporters of Yeddyurappa.
Congress leaders CM Ibrahim, SR Pail, Abhaychandra Jain, Vasanth Salian, Janardhan Poojari, Pramod Madhwaraj, Ramanatha Rai, MA Gafur, Pratapchandra Shetty and others were present.
The three day Yatra will conclude on February 1, Friday.
