Kasargod: Young lady who tried to commit suicide by burning herself, died after a day in a private hospital at Mangaluru, on Friday.

Deepanjali (21) of Uduma is the deceased person.

She was a degree student at Kanhagad College and on Wednesday, she poured kerosene oil on her and flamed herself. She screamed sue to the burning sensation and local people had admitted her to a hospital at Mangaluru.

She had severe burning injuries on her and after not responding to the treatment she breathed her last on Friday.

Reason behind this extreme step is not been ascertained.

Bedadka police have registered a case.
